Drug Abuse is a canker worm which has eaten deep into the fabric of many nations. It is a social menace. Drug abuse brings with it terrible consequences to the health of the individual using it and to the nation generally. A nation that strives to develop socially and economically must curb the tide of Drug Abuse among its youth. This paper examined the causes, effects, and consequences of drug Abuse and the strategies that can be employed to combat it among the youths. It was found that drug abuse has some lethal consequences on the abuser, which can also lead to death. Finally, suggestions on how to prevent the youths from using and abusing drugs were made.
